Lotto Boxes

Very thrilled to have done contract audio work for my extremely talented friends at Petricore Inc. on Lotto Boxes. I've worked with a lot of the devs at Petricore in the past at MassDiGI'S 2014 Summer Innovation Program, and seeing their progress as a group has been amazing to see ever since graduating from the program.

Lotto Boxes is a project developed by Petricore and put together by Becker College, MassDiGI, and the Silicon Valley Foundation "to design & develop a game to spotlight the issue of Income Inequality in America."

In my personal life, I am trying as well to be more involved in what affects my life and others', and I was really happy to contribute to a project that addresses the wealth gap in our society in a way that's both fun and educational.
The gameplay itself involved making jazz music that fit the game and the speed of the gameplay. A lot of the sounds involved actually ripping apart a box I had and recording objects to match what was on the screen

You can watch the trailer for the game here, featuring some of my music:

The game is now out on the AppStore and Google Play store.

Rockudrama - Rock Band Rivals

You can now hear music of mine in a Rockudrama intro scene in the Rock Band Rivals expansion of Rock Band 4.

"Five Dollar Milkshake" is a surf rock track that plays for the underscore of this scene, when you're about to embark on Cruisin' for a Bruisin'. :)

Progress.

One of the cutest attendees of the Game Dev BBQ.

Hey all,

Thank you for continuing to keep updated with my website.

Frankly, there's not too much to update! But I am very thrilled to be keeping busy and treating myself with time to relax in the small moments available.

Harmonix - Work with the studio is still going incredibly well. I continue to work hard with the Audio QA team on DLC content for Rock Band 4. Here's an awesome track we recently got to do, including the drum chart I was able to QA. No shame in loving some 80s glam metal:

Boston Post Mortem - I'm blessed to work as a board member of Boston Post Mortem (IGDA's Boston Chapter). We even got to host a Game Dev BBQ for Boston, which turned out incredibly well. Here's a wonderful blog post written by one of the fantastic volunteers. :)

VGMO - You can continue hearing my podcast jingle and audio editing through Video Game Music Online's podcast episodes.

Freelance - I'm working on content right now with composition/sound design that I'm eager to talk more about, but I unfortunately can't! Here's where the updates mostly come in, but it's content that will have to be kept secret until later :)

There will be more content coming out as I continue my freelance and full-time work. At the same time, this Labor Day weekend, I caught up with family, found times to run outside more often, and made some time to catch up on pop culture and watch Stranger Things. I'm blessed with life at the moment and have no complaints at all. You can always follow me on Twitter for a more thorough update on what I'm doing, whether work or just relax time. If you're hard at work in projects as well, I hope you take time to appreciate what you're accomplishing so far and I hope you make time to relax and spend time with anyone you need to.

You are all amazing. Thank you and I'll make sure you hear from me more soon.

-Renzo

Black Hat Cooperative

I am happy to say that I contributed original music to one of the levels in Black Hat Cooperative, developed by Team Future.

Rick Cody is a composer/sound designer who I not only work alongside with at Harmonix, but who is part of Team Future. I can't tell you how hard he has worked on this game. Him and his team always set a goal on developing and marketing a fun game for virtual reality since its inception as a simple game jam idea. I'm very happy to have contributed a small piece to this project.

UPDATE (6/29): Joe Durbin of UploadVR.com gave Black Hat Cooperative a 9/10 score.

UPDATE (7/2): Black Hat Cooperative appears on the top 5 Featured games in the Oculus Store in the Rift section.

UPDATE (8/3): You can now find the game on the Steam store.

"Breaking Into The Industry" Panel

I'll be taking part in my first "Breaking Into The Industry" panel, hosted by Playcrafting Boston, on Monday June 13th at General Assembly (51 Melcher St., Boston MA).

The panel will include:

- Trevor Stricker (Disco Pixel)
- Chris Foster (Harmonix)
- Cian Rice (Harmonix)

Amazing how less than a year ago, I was brushing up my portfolio in hopes for the slightest chance of a job opportunity. Hoping to let people know that it takes much more than just knowing people and networking to "break" into the games industry. There is still beauty in working hard and doing your best in your craft.
