I've had the absolute pleasure of being able to work as a video engineer for Boston Post Mortem, one of the best community meetups in Boston.
What I've been doing is recording the events through a Samsung HMX-F90 camera and my Zoom h4n microphone. I'm basically that one guy who's taking up space in the middle of Moksa sitting on the floor, occasionally checking the sound through my Sony MDR-7506 headphones and making sure the battery in the camera is still up and running.
I highly recommend any game developer to subscribe to their YouTube channel, even if you're not a developer or reader in Boston. What you're able to get by going to their meetings are meeting friendly and smart developers from all around the Beantown area who can range from students to established game makers, all of whom have various stories and information to share.
Here's the video for their December meeting, which featured Alex Engel of Disruptor Beam presenting their team's plan, progress, and report on bringing Game of Thrones: Ascent to mobile devices.
